Hello and welcome!

This is our first Atlantic Antics newsletter. Our intention is to send these monthly to keep you all updated on what we've been up to.

What have we done so far?

Since signing up to TWAC 2020 this summer, we have been busy building a website, branding our campaign (THANKS GEORGIE FOR THE SICK LOGO!), creating content to build up our social channels (@atlanticantics2020), and much more! We've designed business cards, decided on charities to support, started speaking to previous teams for advice, spent many hours researching all things ocean rowing, and begun the hard process of reaching out to potential sponsors.  A few weeks ago we launched our online shop where you can get your hands on your very own Atlantic Antics merch. Next month, we will be off to La Gomera for the weekend to see the 2019 race start prep. There, we will be able to meet past, present, and future rowers as they all gather on the tiny Spanish island. Check in next time to see how our trip goes.

Back in August we drove down to Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex to visit the guys at Rannoch. They are a boat builder in the UK who supply a lot of the boats in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.  We spent the afternoon with the lovely Angus who took the time to give us advice on our campaign, ocean rowing, and of course, boats! After a lengthy chat, he took us on a tour of the Rannoch workshops, showing us everything from the fibreglass shell to the electrical wiring. We also used the time to snap a few team photos! Our boat is an R45 that will be built next March. It's about 28 ft x 6ft. I think...don't quote me on it. There are two cabins which we tend to describe as being large enough to fit two adults sleeping like sardines. Flo's favourite thing about it all is being able to say "I just put a deposit down on a boat" - something she may never say again in her life. Georgie's favourite thing was her first road trip with the girls and realising she has to spend 50 days with them on a boat. Hannah's favourite thing is that it's being delivered the day after her birthday. CAN I GET A WOOP WOOP FOR 27?!

Looking for sponsors!

We thought rowing to Antigua would be cheaper than wrong were we?! It turns out rowing an ocean is expensive, so we are on the look out to make meaningful partnerships with brands that want to be involved in the Antics. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, in helping to fund our double world record attempt, please do get in touch! Email us at

Love Atlantic Antics x
